Alor consist of 12 islands that has unique culture & amazing underwater life. Do you know that there are more than 50 languages in Alor itself? Beside it’s rich cultures, Alor also is the only place in Indonesia, and probably in the world, where you can see the Dugongs up and close since they live harmoniously with the Alorese.
Indonesia’s most unique animal that had exist since the dinosaurs era, the Komodo, is the main interests of this area. But don’t think nothing else to see here. This island is where the last traditional whale hunters community in Indonesia exist. The people of Lamalera had been hunting sperm whales for more than 500 years. They believe their ancestors are the Blue Whales
