Orangutan at Sebangau National Park & Sei Gohong
Our trip will bring you to see the Orangutans (Pongo pymaeus) in their natural habitat in the peatland swamps of Sebangau National Park then visit the Orangutans’ school at Kaja island & Bangamat island where the process to reintroduce rescued Orangutans back to their natural habitat. These areas are managed by Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF).
Orangutan Wild Tours 2D/1N
DAY 1 : Palangkaraya - Sebangau National Park (L, D)
Upon arrival in Palangkaraya airport, you’ll meet our staff and transferred to the Kereng Bangkirai port to board the motorised canoe. We will sail along the blackwaters of Sebangau river to Sei Koran river. Alongside this route we will have opportunities to see the river’s wildlife and the typical vegetation ecosystem of peatland forest. The journey with the boat will make you feel through a maze of labyrinth of green vegetations. Arrived at the first post, we will trek to the watch tower to observe Orangutans. Then visit the second post where we will see the damage of wildfires and what the community has done to prevent it from happening again.
Sail back to Kereng Bangkirai port and return to Palangkaraya, check in at hotel for rest.
Orangutan at Kaja island
DAY 2 : Palangkaraya – Sei Gohong (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we drive to Sei Gohong village to board the motorised canoe and sail to Kaja island and Bangamat island. In these two islands, there are many Orangutans that had been rescued
Departing Palangkaraya, you’ll be transfered to airport for your next flight or you can extend your trip to our Dayak Tribe Tours or Tanjung Puting Orangutan Tours.
